ZIMBABWE’S confirmed Covid-19 cases have sky-rocketed to 132, just 24 hours after they had been reported to be 56.
This was revealed Wednesday by Information Permanent Secretary Nick Mangwana.
Most of the cases were recorded in Beitbridge, Masvingo and Harare.
Said Mangwana on twitter, “Zimbabwe’s #Covid19 positive cases have now spiked to 132. The 76 new cases have been recorded in the Beitbridge, Masvingo and Harare. All new cases except one have been registered among returnees from mainly SA and Botswana. Only one case is a local transmission.”
The new spike could be a worrisome development for Zimbabwean authorities and ordinary Zimbabweans preparing for a phased reopening of schools in June.
