ZIFA hikes gate charges for Tuesday’s Zim-DRC AFCON qualifier

THE Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has hiked gate charges for Tuesday’s 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier between the Warriors and DRC with the cheapest ticket at $5.

This is according to a charge schedule announced on the country’s football mother body’s website on Monday.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association advises all Warriors supporters coming to watch the match against DR Congo that the gate charges have been revised upwards,” ZIFA said, adding, “The new prices are as follows: Rest of the ground $5, Bay 15-18 $10, VIP $50.”

The cash-strapped football association said it will also be charging $1 each for vehicles parked within the stadium.

Zimbabwe’s football teams are used to hiking gate charges for high profile matches featuring top teams.

On Sunday, the premiership clash between Dynamos and Caps United saw fans paying $5 for the cheapest ticket.
