Zanu PF ‘kills’ Pathisa Nyathi
By Zimstar News reporter
Zanu PF has taken a good lashing from some Zimbabwean Twitter users after mistakenly attaching renowned culturalist Pathisa Nyathi’s image in a condolence message dedicated to late former ZIPRA commander Abraham Nkiwane.
“Rest in peace national hero,” rest the message on a banner with Nyathi’s face.
Samkeliso Tshuma started the Twitter thread and was joined by dozens of other followers in reprimanding a “useless” ruling party.
“This ruling party is useless bantu. They can’t even get one thing correct. This is not Nkiwane,” Tshuma wrote.
Also commenting on the mistake, prolific blogger Alex Magaisa said, “This is embarrassing and disrespectful.”
@Mthwakazi restoration said, “This is the definition of mediocrity. They don’t even know their hero, really. Siyadelelwa komthwakazi.”
@JahArmyZw, “Goes to show this nat hero thing is just PR! Then you will see the EDiot pontificating at the funeral.”
Sekuru Mhozi described the embarrassing mistake as “jaw-dropping incompetence”.
Nkiwane died early this week and was declared a national hero.
According to family, the liberation hero, famed for being the first person to smuggle weapons into the then Rhodesia in 1962, wished to be buried in his farm just outside Bulawayo.
