Uganda minister shot dead at home by bodyguard

Uganda is mourning State Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Col (rtd) Charles Okello Engola who was killed by his bodyguard.
According to The Citizen, Okello was shot dead in the morning while at his home in Kyanja, a suburb in Kampala.

In the fatal incident which was confirmed by Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire, the shooter allegedly went to a salon nearby and shot himself as well.
“Yes. Go to Kyanja, there is a shooting. A soldier has shot his boss,” Owoyesigire told the media.
While presiding over the plenary session, the Speaker of Parliament, Ms Anita Among, sent her condolences to the bereaved family.
She added that the incident was God’s plan and there is little they can do to change the course of things.
As of the time of filing this story, the scene of crime had been cordoned off by security personnel as investigations into the incident continue, Daily Monitor records.
