SOME 150 students in Bulawayo’s Njube High School on Monday pulled down President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s portrait and the national flag during a protest over a fee hike and lack of textbooks at the government learning institution.

The students were reportedly incited by a Science teacher who is said to be now on the run.

They were waving placards and singing as they staged a march for hundreds of mitres to Entumbane shopping complex where they were ordered back into the school yard.

The protest was over a fee hike from $92 which was paid last term to $440 per term.

During the march, the cheeky students are said to have taken down the national flag hoisted in the school yard and used it to wipe their shoes before waving it around during their over 30 minutes demonstration.
