ZIMBABWE premiership title contenders Ngezi Platinum beat Dynamos 1-0 to go within two points of log leaders FC Platinum in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Week 20 clash played at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.

Ngezi forward David Bulaji struck at the stroke of half time in what later proved to be decider in a match that condemned his former paymasters to a defeat in front of their fans.

The triumph by the Tonderayi Ndiraya (pictured) coached side ensured the fast-emerging premiership giants posted their second victory on the trot after suffering four defeats all in a row in their last encounters.

They take their points tally to 44 and remain within shouting distance of FC Platinum who have had a poor start to the resumption of the premiership season following a mid-season break few weeks back.

Dynamos dropped to number 13.

In another highlight encounter, an early strike by Highlanders forward Newman Sianchali and a second half spot kick save by goalie Eriel Sibanda ensured the visiting Bulawayo side posted a crucial 1-0 victory over tough opponents Triangle at Gibbo Stadium.

Bosso moved up to fourth place on the premiership ladder with now 35 points to their credit.

At Vhengere Stadium, table anchors Mutare City fell 0-1 to former champions Chicken Inn, thanks to a strike within three minutes of the encounter by Innocent Muchaneka.

Chicken Inn are third on the premiership table with 37 points.

In another match, Herentals posted a surprise 1-0 win over giant killers ZPC Kariba to complete the weekend programme of premiership fixtures.
