PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has extended by a further 14 days, Zimbabwe’s lockdown saying the unprecedented business break has proven to be an effective method to control the spread of Covid-19 in a country which has so far recorded 40 cases.
In a special address to the nation Friday ahead of the expiry of the initial 35-day lockdown period this Sunday, Mnangagwa also said the wearing of face masks will now be compulsory.
Mnangagwa further restored the country’s 21-day quarantine period, which had been slashed to seven days by authorities.
