FC PLATINUM Wednesday deposed Dynamos FC from the summit of the Castle Lager Premiership log with a 2-0 defeat over neighbours Shabanie Mine in the Zvishavane derby played at Mandava Stadium.
After playing to a goalless first half with their rivals, FC Platinum’s Rodwell Chinyengetere and veteran forward Mkhokheli Dube stepped up to the plate to ensure Norman Mapeza’s (pictured) 100th game in charge of the platinum miners was a day to remember.
With the 2017 Castle Lager Premier Soccer league race heating up, Dynamos failed to use home advantage at the National Sports Stadium by playing to a costly 1-all draw with visiting Tsholotsho FC.
Tichaona Chipunza’s 16th minute goal was immediately cancelled by Tsholotsho’s Lucky Nyathi only 60 seconds later.

At the Colliery, Hwange FC played to another 1-all draw with Yadah FC while relegation bound Bantu Rovers were shock 2-0 victors over Sunday Chidzambwa ZPC Kariba.
Other matches played saw How Mine lose 1-2 to Bulawayo City at Luveve Stadium.
On Thursday, Triangle FC host Bulawayo giants Highlanders FC at Gibbo stadium while Black Rhinos entertain champions Caps United at the National Sports Stadium.
Former champions Chicken Inn host Harare City at Luveve Stadium hoping to get their championship hopes back on track.
