FC Platinum beat Chicken Inn to claim top spot while Caps end winless streak

FC Platinum have dislodged Chicken Inn from the summit of the current Castle Lager Premier Soccer League log standings after posting a comprehensive 3-0 beating of the Gamecocks while Caps United finally ended their winless streak with a 2-1 beating of neighbours Harare City in matches played this Saturday.

FC Platinum got their goals through double scorer Walter Musona after 3 and 29 minutes and Rodwell Chinyengetere five minutes from the breather.

The match was played at Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo.

At the National Sports Stadium, coach Lloyd Chitembwe was a relieved man after seeing his Caps United end a seven match winless nightmare with goals by William Manondo after 17 and 52 minutes.


Samure Zororai scored the consolation for Harare City.

In another match played same afternoon, Black Rhinos beat 2-1 Herentals at Vengere Stadium.

Premiership action continues this Sunday with Dynamos clashing with Triangle United at the National Sports Stadium while Highlanders make the long trip to Baobab to play against Ngezi Platinum.

Bulawayo Chiefs take on Cranborne Bullets at Luveve while Manica Diamonds clash with Bulawayo City at Sakubva.


The Ascot stadium clash between Whawha and Tenax complete Week 19 of the current premiership fixtures.
