Under-pressure Caps United coach, Lloyd Chitembwe has hinted on a possible decision to throw in the towel after the club legend Sunday suffered his seventh straight defeat in charge of the fading premiership giants’ dressing room.

The Caps woes spilled into the second half of premiership season after the Green Machine went down to a 1-0 defeat to visiting ZPC Kariba under chilly weather at the National Sports Stadium.

Chitembwe was left cursing his luck when the former champions dominated the exchanges for almost the entire match only to succumb to an own goal by defender Marshal Machazane.

“Very disappointing result I must say; it’s probably the worst phase that I have gotten myself into and I don’t want to lie to you, I am extremely disappointed, very much deflated and at the same time feeling bad about everything,” Chitembwe said in a post-match interview.

He added, “But I thought in terms performance, it was a decent performance not as bad as we normally play but sometimes when things are not going your way, games of this nature are decided by some very, very stupid mistakes and I thought we failed to manage that situation probably.”

In a short but loaded statement, Chitembwe hinted on a position decision to quit the club.

“We just have to work on a lot of things in as far as the game of football is concerned but I really have to take time and seriously consider certain things…” said the former Warriors linkman without elaborating.

With 18 matches played so far, Caps have just collected 17 points and lie in an unfamiliar 14th position on the premiership log standings.

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League has 18 teams.
