Zinara hikes toll fees

The Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) has reviewed upwards, the Zim-dollar component of road toll fees in line with the increase in the foreign currency auction rate.

In a statement Saturday, Zinara said the US dollar toll fee package remains unchanged.

The new fees are set to come into effect on Monday 23 May 2022.

Read the statement, “In terms of Section 4 of Statutory Instrument 32 of 2021, toll fees which are pegged in foreign currency are payable in ZWL at the prevailing foreign currency auction rate.


“Pursuant to that, we would like to advise our valued customers that with effect from Monday 23 May 2022, the following toll fees will apply…”

According to the statement, light motor vehicles will now be required to pay ZWL$520, up from ZWL$300. The alternative charge remains US$2 in foreign currency.

Minibuses will now pay ZWL$780, up from ZWL$450. The alternative US dollar charge of US$3 remains unchanged.

Buses will now pay ZWL$1 040, up from ZWL$600 with the foreign currency alternative of US$4 still intact.


Heavy vehicles will now pay ZWL$1 300, up from ZWL$750 while the foreign currency rate of US$5 remains.

Zinara also raised fees for haulage trucks from ZWL$ 1 500 to ZWL$ 2 600 with the alternative US$10 remaining unchanged.

Residential discount per term was raised from ZWL$6 000 to ZWL$ 10 400 with the US dollar component of US$40 remaining unchanged.
