Newly-elected Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) politicians are set to be sworn in this Tuesday when parliament resumes sitting with a great majority of them no newcomers to the august house.
They join nine Zanu PF MP elects who shall be sworn in during the same occasion.
What is interesting however is that for the first time in the history of the post-2000 legislative house, there shall be more than one member of a political party that is neither Zanu PF nor MDC.
The CCC members set to be sworn in are Kucaca Phulu, MP elect for Nkulumane), Sichelesile Mahlangu (Pumula), Wellington Chikombo (Glen Norah), Fani Munengami (Glen Norah North), Murisi Zvizvai (Harare Central), Tendai Biti (Harare East), Erick Murai (Highfield East) Happymore Chidziva (Highfield West) and Willias Madzimure (Kambuzuma).
Also set for swearing in under CCC is Johnson Matambo (Kuwadzana), Chalton Hwende Kuwadzana), Susan Matsunga (Mufakose), Dickson Tarusenga (St Marys), Prosper Mutseyami (Dangamvura Chikanga, Caston Matewu Marondera Central), Prince Dubeko Sibanda (Binga North), Judith Tobaiwa (Kwekwe Central), Settlement Chikwinya (Mbizo) and Amos Chibaya (Mkoba).
There shall be no major reasons for parliamentary orientation for the MP elects as the majority of them are former MDC Alliance MPs who are returning to the house following their recalls in 2020.
Zanu PF MP elects set to be sworn in are Zalera Makari (Epworth), Mishck Mugadza Mutasa South), Jeremiah Chiwetu (Marondera East), Nyasha Masoka (Murewa South), Munyaradzi Zizhou (Chivi South), Master Makope (Mwenezi East), Musa Ncube (Tsholotsho South), Davison Masvisvi (Gokwe Central) and Tasara Hungwe (Mberengwa South).
