MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora says the latest round of recalls by his party on 16 MDC Alliance councillors loyal to opposition rivals were done last September but were strangely effected by Local Government Minister July Moyo just recently.
He was addressing the media at the Morgan Richard Tsvangirai House this Monday afternoon to respond to the outcome of the just ended by-elections in which his party failed to scrap a single seat in 28 electable and 117 council elections.
Just as Zimbabweans were still trying to digest the outcome of the by-elections, news emerged that MDC-T secretary general Paurina Mpariwa had recalled 16 provincial council members from eight provinces who had allegedly ceased to be members of the party.
Also responding to reports he has been suspended as MDC Alliance leader by coalition partners, Mwonzora said his party has tried to trace the authenticity of the letter and discovered that it was fake.
