Late former President Robert Mugabe’s older son, Robert Junior has made a surprise appearance at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rally in Chitungwiza in what could be construed as a form of endorsement on the incumbent’s leadership.
Robert Junior came in the company of Passion Java with the two seen seated together at the event.
He was seen putting on Zanu PF regalia.
Commenting on his attendance, Robert Junior told the media that Zanu PF was the only party he has known since birth.
“I thought l should come and support. It’s a family tradition…since I was born all I know is Zanu PF. I am a Zanu PF child. It’s only right that I continue the legacy and remain in Zanu PF,” he said.
Mnangagwa, who ousted Mugabe in 2017 via a military assisted coup, was Wednesday in the dormitory town to address a star rally.
