Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) president Nelson Chamisa is set for his first star rally since leading his party into a famous break from the MDC Alliance with a by-election campaign launch high up on his itinerary at the iconic Zimbabwe Grounds this Sunday.
Dubbed #YellowSunday By-Election Campaign Launch Rally, the event follows similar launches already done by rivals in Zanu PF’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Douglas Mwonzora’s MDC Alliance.
“YELLOW CITIZENS! THIS IS YOUR SHOW…THIS TIME!” posted the opposition chief Tuesday.
The rally, outside the by-elections set for March 26 this year, would be the first major test for the newly branded opposition outfit’s popularity.
A paltry crowd attended Mwonzora’s rally at the same venue on Saturday.
Mnangagwa also launched his own party’s campaign in Harare’s Epworth suburb same day.
The March by-election is expected to set the tone for the 2023 harmonised elections in the country.
