Three Chiredzi juveniles aged 15, 16 and 17 are being investigated together with two other co-suspects aged 19 and 20 for a murder case that occurred at a shrine recently.
In a twit via their official handle Tuesday, police said the alleged murder was committed on a 27-year-old man.
Said the police, “The ZRP has arrested three male juveniles aged 15, 16 and 17 and two male adults aged 19 and 20 in connection with a murder case which occurred at Labamba Village, Mkwasine, Chiredzi on 14/01/22.
“The five suspects together with two others, still at large, attacked a man (27) at a Masowe Church shrine over an unknown dispute.”
Police said one of the suspects stabbed the victim once under the left armpit with a sharp object resulting in death.
Cases involving minors allegedly taking part in murder cases are becoming prevalent.
A 15-year-old Gokwe boy faces murder after he allegedly fatally kicked an age-mate during a kick-boxing match between the minors who were herding cattle.
The incident, according to police, happened at Gandiwa grazing lands Thursday.
