ZIFA have announced the final 23-men Warriors squad selected by head coach Norman Mapeza to represent the country in the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon this January.
Goalkeepers are Peter Mhari, Martin Mapisa and Talbert Shumba.
Defenders selected to make the trip are Peter Muduhwa, Alec Mudimu, Teenage Hadebe, Jordan Zemura, Godknows Murwira, Gerald Takwara, Gilroy Chimwemwe, Bruce Kangwa and Onismor Bhasera.
Midfielders are Kelvin Madzongwe, Thabani Kamusoko, Kudakwashe Mahachi, Ishmael Wadi, Never Tigere and Kundai Benyu.
In front, Knowledge Musona and Tinotenda Kadewere headline the list of strikers who comprise Admiral Muskwe, Prince Dube (pictured) and David Moyo.
The Warriors are in Group B together with Senegal, Malawi and Guinea and their first encounter is on 10 January against Sedio Mane’s Senegal.
Zimbabwe’s participation in the continental tournament shall however depend on whether the Sports and Recreation Commission complies with a FIFA ultimatum to reverse its ban on the Felton Kamambo ZIFA led board by 3 January or the country’s national teams suffer consequences.
FIFA statutes do not allow any government interference with sports administration in affiliate countries.
