Details have emerged that the Zimbabwe National Army soldier who shot and killed four villagers and further injured three in Mhondoro on Christmas Day, had gone for drinking with a fully loaded AK assault rifle which he was forced to use as a form of defence against a mob that allegedly attacked him for being in love with a 15-year-old girl who was daughter to one of the villagers.

A memo believed to be from the ZNA has identified the killer serviceman as Monga R from ZNA 5 Brigade.

Monga had gone for the beer drink at Wanganui Shops in Mhondoro in the company of one Dzatutwa.

He was confronted by one Brian Mutero who was accusing him of having an affair with his daughter.
