Chamisa’s Christmas surprise to Tsvangirai’s mother

MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa Friday surprised late party founding leader Morgan Tsvangirai’s mother, Lydia Tsvangirai (née Zvaipa) with some Christmas groceries which were delivered to the Buhera based widow by party aides.

The groceries included some baking flour, cooking oil and powdered milk.

In a twit Saturday, MDC Alliance said the groceries were delivered to Gogo Tsvangirai at her rural home.

“The People’s President, Adv @nelsonchamisa yesterday deployed a team to deliver Christmas groceries to Gogo Tsvangirai, mother to the late and founding President of the Movement For Democratic Change, Dr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai in Buhera’s Humanikwa village. Tsvangirai died 14 February 2018 after leading the main opposition party for nearly two decades,” said MDC Alliance.

Tsvangirai died of colon cancer in South Africa 14 February 2018 after helping form and leading the country’s biggest opposition formed in 1999.

The former Prime Minister in the country’s short-lived unity government of 2009-13 was buried in his rural home in Buhera.

The delivery of groceries to Gogo Tsvangirai’s home follows the MDC Alliance leader’s donation of food hampers to the elderly from different parts of Harare earlier in the week.
