Police have arrested the two fugitive armed robbers who were part of a five member gang that invaded Joseph Nhemaisa’s Chadcombe home in Harare but lost out when the former police detective reacted swiftly and gunned down three of them.
Police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident and promised to issue a statement over the incident.
In his account of the incident, Nhemaisa said the five robbers who were armed with AK rifles pounced on his home late Monday evening and held his family members hostage while demanding cash.
Nhemaisa, who was not at his home at the time, said he reacted to a phone call by his son who told him in a panicking voice that some robbers had stormed the family home.
The ex-detective is said to have summoned his police experience to single-handedly gun down the invaders.
