A 10-year-old boy has reportedly been arrested for allegedly stealing money from some police officers.

According to a twit by the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum, the minor was “arrested” Saturday and assaulted by Kutama police on allegations of stealing their money.

The boy picked a plastic with USD140 which he handed over to his mother.

When police officers approached him asking for the money, the mother handed over the USD140. The police then claimed it was $200.

Lawyer Nyasha Machirori has been tasked by Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum to represent the minor.

In another incident involving the arrest of juveniles, police in Chitungwiza, on Saturday released two juveniles into the custody of their parents after they had arrested them for allegedly participating in a gathering with intention to cause public violence during a Register to Vote sensitisation programme.
