Zanu PF information chief threatens ‘Taliban’ style violence against US embassy

Controversial Zanu PF director of information and publicity Tafadzwa Mugwadi is at it again, this time threatening US embassy officials with ‘Taliban style’ violence seen of the extremist group in Afghanistan recently.

In a twit Thursday, the US Embassy (Harare) pressed Zimbabwean authorities to reveal when they intended to call for long postponed by-elections that, according to its officials, have left 754 000 locals without parliamentary representation.

Said the embassy, “When will the Zimbabwean government resume by-elections? Long-standing parliamentary vacancies have left over 754,000 voters in 26 constituencies without elected representation. Only by-elections will restore these citizens’ rights to representation. #ZimVotesMatter.”

But Mugwadi, once hauled over the coals for nearly torching a diplomatic row with neighbouring South Africa, responded with a rather sabre-rattling message, telling the embassy Zimbabweans will visit a Taliban style violence on them.

“We will do it the Taliban way!! Stay far from our lane or the consequences will be humiliating the Taliban style,” he said.

Mugwadi added, “Don’t ask me wht is the Taliban style. Ask the gringos who created a puppet Gvt, supported it for 20 years with war, only to be over-ran by Talibans leaving guns, war jets, helicopters, cash, whiskey & their puppets at the hands of Afghan Talibans kkk. Lesson: Puppets are losers.”

The Zanu PF led government accuses the US of sponsoring a plot through the opposition to remove it from power it by whatever means.

The US has however maintained its hands are clean, often telling Harare to dump its authoritarian rule if it entertained a thaw in the former allies’ bitter relations.
