Warriors linkman Marvelous Nakamba has apologised to Aston Villa teammates and fans for missing his penalty kick against Chelsea in a Third Round fixture of the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge Wednesday.

The match had ended 1-1 and it was left to the penalty lottery to decide the winner.

Chelsea eventually edged the Birmingham side 4-3 with Ashley Young and Nakamba missing the target.

In a tweet, Nakamba issued an apology for “letting down” the Villa family.

“I would like to apologise to all my team mates, coaching staff and most of all the fans who I have let down tonight. Be rest assured that I will learn from this mistake and come back stronger,” he said.
