Sports deputy minister Tino Machakaire and his fundraising team have dangled a US$64 000 bonus to be shared among the Zimbabwe Senior Men’s Football Team players and officials should the Warriors beat Ethiopia in a crucial 2022 World Cup Group G qualifier in the East African country’s port city of Bahir Dar this Tuesday.

The match is slated for 3pm.

In a statement, Zifa Interim Fundraising Committee chairman Philemon Machana said the bonus was a financial motivation package for the Warriors.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is delighted to inform the football fraternity and the nation at large that the interim ZIFA fundraising committee has, through the facilitation of the Honorable Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports, Arts and Recreation Tino Machakaire secured a financial motivational package for the Warriors for the critical match against Ethiopia slated for Bahir Dar at 3pm tomorrow.

“The Deputy Minister and the Minister Dr Kirsty Coventry have been supportive of ZIFA.

“Honorable Machakaire has managed to secure a total of US$64000 to be shared equally by all players and the technical team in the event of a win against Ethiopia.”

This will see each player and the support staff each receive US$2 000.
